It is an exciting time to join the ABBV-951 team as we develop our launch plans and prepare for launch.  ABBV-951 is an innovative drug/device combination which delivers a continuous subcutaneous infusion of prodrugs of carbidopa and levodopa, currently in development for treatment of motor fluctuations in patients with advanced Parkinson’s Disease.

The Marketing Manager (MM) Consumer, ABBV-951, develops, and implements commercial plans and programs needed to successfully launch ABBV-951 in an increasingly competitive landscape with a key focus on the consumer.  The Marketing Manager will work closely with multiple commercial operation departments to ensure success. Internally, the MM will foster positive working relationships with the sales force, medical affairs, market research, sales training, regulatory, and other franchise marketing teams.  Externally, the MM works with various agencies, consultants and vendors to successfully drive the business.  The MM does not have direct reports but must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority and build a collaborative and integrated commercial team.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Parkinson’s patient and all key stakeholders on the Parkinson’s disease journey and ensure that all patient marketing activities align with the needs of the target audience.
  • Contribute to the development of the ABBV-951 strategic and tactical plans and LRR2 and 3 presentations.
  • Driving and participating in business and marketing plans and processes.
  • Leading development and manage execution of DTC tactics to drive business objectives through a variety of channels including CRM, TV, in-office, print, with a strong emphasis in digital communications
  • Understanding and leveraging marketplace trends to apply to the marketing plan on an on-going basis.
  • Leadership of cross functional teams, demonstrating AbbVie Ways of Working
  • Utilization of various research methods to establish key points of product/brand differentiation in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
  • Directing and managing marketing plans, initiatives, and tasks. Producing and delivering high-quality work that meets timelines. Ensuring that regulatory and compliance guidelines are followed.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of campaign strategies through campaign measurement and metrics development to ensure positive return on investment and achievement of brand objectives.
  • Support other departmental initiatives as needed.
  • Work with internal cross functional groups (Legal, Regulatory, Medical , Clinical, Sales Training, Market Analytics and Business Insights) and external (Ad Agency, Digital Partners) to ensure integration and consistency of patient strategies and regulatory compliance of promotional material.
  • Manage relationships with agencies and vendors.
  • Manage internal/external networks, consultants, and agency partners
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of marketing plans and recommend changes in strategy or tactics as appropriate
  • Participate on cross-functional teams
  • Participate in Market Research as appropriate
  • Communicate up, down, and laterally in an effective manner

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 years of biopharmaceutical marketing, sales or other relevant experiences required
  • Efficient project management and communication capabilities along with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, including excellence in power point presentation building.
  • Proficiency in core marketing capabilities such as creative development, value proposition, positioning, segmentation, investment optimization, etc.
  • Must have attention to detail and ability to flawlessly execute programming
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products
  • Experience utilizing consumer marketing tactics (print, web/digital, email, TV)
  • CRM experience including email and direct mail
  • Understanding of social media platforms and their application

Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Pharmaceutical/biotechnology launch experience
  • Neuroscience Experience
  • Sales Experience
  • Knowledge of marketing concepts within strategic planning process
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively cross-functionally
  • Strong collaboration and team orientation, with experience accomplishing results through others and influencing others
  • Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies including advertising, digital, external and internal partners
  • Demonstrated understanding of principles of market research to draw valid conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability to operate quickly and decisively in a fast-paced, matrixed, and demanding environment
