Global DBS Leader - Corporate Functions


The Global DBS Leader is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) at Videojet Technologies Inc., to drive incremental performance and efficiency gains, as well as enable improved collaboration between operations, commercial business process areas and the support functions. This individual will also be responsible for utilizing the DBS to recommend strategies and implement business process improvements through automation solutions, while maintaining serviceable, cost-effective infrastructures, as well as develop and coach other associates in effective problem solving and continuous improvement mindset. The main focus area will be Finance and IT, but may extend to support broader corporate functions.


  • Create and support deployment of global Finance and IT playbook of standard work and tools
  • Maintain a funnel of project and problem solving opportunities with prioritization, impact and resource demand for active managing of execution
  • Support country teams in enabling and leveraging global cross-functional and cross-region support for advancing problem solving and continuous improvement in the organizations.
  • Work with function and country leaders to meet business objectives and improve functional efficiency
  • Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and support using appropriate tools to eliminate them
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and change management process
  • Ensure and facilitate productive PSP & kaizen events, as well as coaching the organization to employ the appropriate tool for the problem to solve
  • Assist functional leadership in the development of a Finance and IT DBS roadmap
  • Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (other trainers and consultants from Danaher, Shingijutsu, or other)
  • Improve DBS training and facilitation skills by pursuing certification in DBS tools
  • Be a part of the Global Videojet & Danaher DBS community, actively contributing to the advancement of the DBS culture in the organization: DBS-ing DBS.
  • Benchmark and incorporate best practices

Must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture. Need to be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint. Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to Danahers culture and gain the confidence of the Danaher organization. This person will be high energy and able to handle conflict. Will be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 7+ years of Operations, Commercial or Engineering experience
  • BS or BA Degree in Business or Engineering required; Masters Degree preferred
  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a general managers point of view
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap for an operating business
  • Mastery of a variety of DBS tools
  • Superior communications skills
  • Superior training skills and adult learning theory
  • Superior consulting/influencing skills
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies
  • Hands-on experience implementing DBS (or continuous improvement principles) in a line management role
  • Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training environments
  • Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management


The Global DBS Leader Corporate Functions reports into the Vice President Finance, and dotted line to the Vice President of DBS. No Direct reports.
