Industrial Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Industrial Engineer, you will bring hands-on IE experience to monitor, collect, analyze, and optimize our current operations. We are looking for someone who can work with cross-functional manufacturing, quality, safety, and other engineering teams to meet company goals, improve performance to produce quality parts.

Focus areas include safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes workforce utilization, facilitates, and validates operational data, such as production costs, production data, production flow schedules to increase efficiency and reduce waste for Cepheid Lodi plastics manufacturing sites.
  • Conduct time studies identify value added activities and propose improvement plans.
  • Develops, implements, and standardizes across all the plant and product lines work measurement techniques and labor utilization standards.
  • Design the layout of the equipment and workspace to manufacture parts with maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Preparing material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs.
  • Work with manufacturing, quality, and engineering team to identify equipment and process improvement opportunities.
  • Successfully complete assigned duties under OSHA, FDA, and ISO compliance.
  • Lead Kaizen activities and events.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Training staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering with 5+ years of related work experience OR
  • Masters degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Relevant work experience in high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong listening, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment across departments including manufacturing, quality, finance, supply chain, and various engineering teams.
  • Good judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and maintain safe working environment.
  • An individual must be self-desired, dependable, and motivated with excellent relationship and time management skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Documentation - Write and release qualification/re-qualification documents per quality management system processes
  • Process analysis Cycle time, Efficiency, Productivity, Utilization, Takt time vs Cycle time.
  • Capacity planning and constraint analysis.
  • Value stream mapping, improve work/process flow by studying process flowcharts, recommend modification.
  • Understand ERP systems, MII, MES, SAP System, OEE Charts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Solidworks or a standard 3D Cad design software.

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with injection molding
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with ISO13485
