Manufacturing Specialist

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for all purification media manufacturing materials to support on time delivery and reduction of past dues. Partners with operations and engineering to increase quality with the intent of continuous improvement to achieve sustainable plant goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides troubleshooting support and preventative maintenance for manufacturing equipment
  • Creates operations and troubleshooting guides for machine operator use
  • Develops training documents and programs to improve machine operators efficiency and safety
  • Completes product and equipment testing through simulation runs and creation of production samples under the direction of manufacturing engineers
  • Develops and maintains tooling identification and storage procedures to facilitate continuous access and use of all available tooling
  • Develops process controls and quality checks that ensure the continuous manufacture of products to required quality standards with the assistance of manufacturing engineer
  • Works with design engineering to establish and/or change drawings to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing
  • Supports manufacturing teams in the performance and measurement of on-time delivery, scrap reduction and quality

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry with five (5) years related manufacturing experience
  • Experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies
  • A comprehensive understanding of production planning and scheduling
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • SAP Business System Experience Preferred

Ability to interact with all levels of the business (senior leaders to working teams), exceptionally good listening skills, able to present complex or new ideas with clarity and simplicity

  • Planning and Execution: Excellent project management and prioritization skills. Solid business acumen. Able to deliver results despite shifting environment
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Able to identify problems; apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root cause using data. Innovative and effective solution development, risk mitigation and execution. Hands-on experience with most of the following Lean / Problem solving tools: DMAIC, Lean, voice of the customer, benchmarking, quality function deployment, control charts, standardized work, etc.
