In the position of Project Manager IT, you will manage projects and products that support the mission and goals of the New American University.
This role will provide expertise in the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, and initiatives. You will have the ability to stay nimble among changing priorities and establish successful relationships with project and product teams, as well as, Product Owners, Portfolio Owners, Sponsors, and Stakeholders. You will work with the team to help remove project roadblocks, identify risks, manage scope, and provide timely status updates to leadership. This position will use an iterative approach to manage projects, focusing on delivering value through multiple releases. $70,000 - $76,000 per year; DOE
Plans, develops, implements, and manages a project or product through full sprint cycles, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
Works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, and outcomes; identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s).
Establishes and continually monitors/manages project expectations with team; identifying issues for resolution to ensure team success.
Prepares and maintains all project status reports and schedules; tracks deliverables, and dependencies; re-sets expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes.
Responds to all inquiries regarding project status; maintains and updates project/product boards in Jira.
Manages, coaches, and supervises all project or product team members both internal and external to ensure effective outcomes; builds, develops, and maintains relationships vital to project success.
Works collaboratively with stakeholders, leadership, and other related staff to define and identify all required project scope.
Prepares all post-project reports to ensure timely dissemination of information to all interested parties.
Takes action to mitigate conflict; escalates serious project issues.
Effectively communicates relevant project information in a professional manner.
Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with multiple stakeholders, Product Owners, Portfolio Owners and Executive Leadership.
Takes responsibility for fostering culture, advancing our values, and championing engagement in all its forms -- collaborating across our teams as well as participating in UTO/ASU events and programs.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience; 1 of which are in project management, or any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Experience managing complex technology projects in an Agile manner.
Experience in clarifying roles and responsibilities to ensure understanding of expectations.
Experience working on multiple projects at one time while staying flexible among changing priorities.
Demonstrated knowledge of current project management methodologies and change management practices.
Experience in project management with IT projects. (2 years)
Experience with the Atlassian Suit or Jira. (2 years)
Experience with Scrum and/or Agile project methodology (1 year)
Experience developing strategies and technical specifications for projects (1 year)
Experience in developing stakeholder confidence and mitigating conflict
Experience in preparing and maintaining all project status reports and schedules
Experience in running sprints and tracking deliverables
Higher Education experience
Evidence of a Scrum Master Certification
Experience in modeling empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence
Experience hiring in a values-led organization, emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
Experience in fostering a safe psychological space for all teammates where everyone can thrive
Experience in stimulating changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties.
