About the Team

Our IT team has 4 different departments: Information Security, IT Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, and IT Commerce & Customer Engagement.

About the Job

The Quality Assurance Analyst will work to increase and assure the level of quality of PetSmart solutions and services by:

  • Partnering with the business to validate the software under test meets the pre-determined acceptance criteria
  • Designing, writing, and executing manual and automated tests in a complex integrated environment to determine whether the product is ready to release
  • Contributing to QA engineering and testing best practices



  • Partnering with Order Mgmt., integration, product, solution, system and business owners to understand solutions being developed and identify test requirements
  • Execute formal test activities following industry standard test processes according to established procedures ensuring audit requirements are met
  • Participate in the creation of integrated test plans and scenarios, test reports and other supporting documentation and artifacts
  • Write test scripts and perform test execution including functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and model-based automation to meet functional, performance, scalability and security goals.
  • Partner with Application Analysts and other testers in test execution
  • Defect detection and independent analysis, reproducing and isolating reported defects to narrow field of focus, and technical collaboration with analysts and developers for root-cause analysis
  • Maintain consistent test case execution, defect documentation and tracking
  • Assist with environment management and solution migration through development, QA and UAT environments working closely with release management
  • Assist with tracking quality assurance metrics such as test execution, defect densities and open defect counts
  • Contribute to the test plan and testing status reports for all assigned projects and work efforts
  • Effectively manage multiple testing activities
  • Quick learner in the applications responsible to test
  • Demonstrate solid analytical and problem-solving skills


  • 3+ years of experience in a QA/Software Engineering related role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience or combination of both
  • Demonstrated ability in a project management/defect tracking/change management platform
  • Experience with Retail, Order Management or Warehouse Management applications
  • Solid background in functional testing methodologies 
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks and Waterfall methodology
  • Should be customer-oriented, mission focused, and a quick learner
  • Work well within a team setup and contributes to a positive team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with and through others to resolve issues
  • Passion for delivering quality software solutions, systems and services
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Experienced oral and written communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and solid work ethic
  • Continuous learner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing and maintaining test automation
  • Operations/product support experience
  • Experience with Manhattan, IBM, enVista Order Management or Warehouse Management applications
  • iOS and Android testing experience
  • Production Support experience
  • Non-Functional testing (Stress, Performance, Load testing)
  • Experience with industry test tools (JMeter, SOAPUI, qTest, Tosca etc.)
  • SQL and data verification
