About the Job
Associate Application Analyst – PB Manufacturing, Sales, & Distribution
How this role will make an impact:
This position supports and helps to execute the entire software development life-cycle for our Proprietary Brands co-manufacturing, distribution, and sales order capabilities. You will identify, define, analyze, prioritize, test, and refine the technology and process requirements and work with cross functional IT and business teams to deliver the solution. You will partner with our business and IT teams to identify areas for improvement and be responsible for the span of requirements gathering processes through execution of value driven changes.
Your goals and responsibilities will include:
Project / Delivery Responsibilities:
Support software and technology solutions to enable improvement in business processes and management, including defining KPI’s and SLA’s
Support the creation of business requirements and functional design specifications. Identify gaps between business requirements and application capabilities and recommend options.
Support implementation of project; setup and configuration of the system, quality assurance validation from creation and execution of test plans, cases and scripts; establish and manage acceptance criteria, identifies defects and works to a resolution with the Developers and business teams.
Ability to engage business and extract requirements that may or may not be stated directly. Ability to resolve issues quickly and accept responsibility for the resolution.
Identifies gaps between technical solution/application capabilities/business requests, and negotiates resolution.
Actively engages with a team of developers, architects, and analyst in delivering business requirements, technical requirements and testing for the implemented functionalities. Work closely with the business throughout the project to ensure solution meets business needs.
Understands the business operations and information affecting multiple business functions and aspects of how they relate to other areas.
Engage and support vendor partners where needed to ensure deliverables are high quality, on time, and meet the business needs. Ensure that proposed system changes are supported by application vendor. Evaluate, coordinate and/or applies vendor package and software tool upgrades and patches.
Promote healthy systems and business processes by ensuring ongoing management of the application and supporting process, and regulatory requirements are covered within the scope of all change.
Partner with IT and Business operations teams to understand current issues and opportunities for improvements in systems, end to end integration with PetSmart and it’s internal and external customers and supporting processes.
Respond to production support issues and support resolution of complex issues.
Actively seek opportunities to reduce support incidents and manual work through technology.
Develops, utilizes, and enhances technical documentation, knowledge bases, and DR plans.
Works with vendors to resolve issues as needed. Participates in vendor case reviews; supplies logs, information, and facts needed to support vendor resolution of issues.
Seeks to identify and resolve root causes of problems; formulates and executes remediation plans,
What you’ll bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Able to articulate information to internal customers and IT leaders. Able to work well in groups containing individuals with differing viewpoints.
Ability for independent decision making, supporting large customer groups, and providing guidance and direction to projects.
Detail oriented, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
Able to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues spanning multiple technology platforms.
Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
