Senior Credit Risk Specialist - Distribution Finance

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Specialist in Corporate Risk as part of the Distribution Finance team. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for developing and executing an oversight and monitoring framework to evaluate the quality of credit underwriting, portfolio management, credit models, field services, and workout activities within Distribution Finance (Inventory Finance, Vendor Finance, and Channel Finance).
  • Verifying completeness and accuracy of underwriting including risk rating integrity, loan documentation, financial analysis, DCAA and overall credit decisions.
  • Reviewing portfolio performance and processes within adherence to applicable Policies and procedures. 
  • Oversight of  portfolio management activities, review credit model performance and monitoring.
  • Monitor and validate workout activities; monitor field services processes and activities.
  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for risk mitigation strategies within Credit Risk
  • Contribute to credit performance, potential or emerging risks
  • Receive direction from leaders
  • Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal customers

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ yrs Commercial lending experience  
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Distribution Finance Experience (Inventory Finance, Technology, and Vendor Finance)
  • Experience with workout or troubled debt accounts
  • Knowledge of Credit Polices; Field Service activities, and DF SOPs and process/systems
  • Experience in audit, quality assurance, or testing and validation of credit processes for commercial portfolios, including underwriting, portfolio management, and workout activities
