Supplier Diversity Program Manager

The Supplier Diversity team of professionals is responsible for building relationships within the communities we serve through the development, inclusion, and utilization of certified minority, women, disadvantaged (LGBT, disabled, veteran and disabled veteran-owned) and small business enterprises (MWDSBEs).

Supplier diversity is a proactive business process which encourages the use of diverse suppliers. Supplier diversity process recognize that sourcing products and services from previously under-used suppliers helps to sustain and progressively transform a company's supply chain, thus quantitatively reflecting the demographics of the community in which it operates by recording transactions with diverse suppliers.

Our commitment is to improve the development of certified minority, women, LGBT, veteran, and disabled businesses, as well as small businesses by developing and implementing capacity programs tailored to the specific needs of diverse suppliers in the areas of: 1) Leadership Skills and Mentoring, 2) Access to Capital, 3) Access to Contracts, and 4) e-commerce opportunities.

Wells Fargo is seeking a Supplier Diversity Program Manager / Lead Sourcing Consultant to

serve as a Supplier Diversity subject matter expert by consulting with the business on category level strategies to grow spend with diverse suppliers. Providing tactical recommendations grounded by data, insights and benchmarks the help the business make procurement inclusion  business decisions.


In this role, you will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships internal and external stakeholders to effectively influence and direct the achievement of supplier diversity related business objectives.
  • Manage Supplier Diversity growth projects across supply chain management and lines of businesses.
  • Responsible for increasing  YOY  tier 1 supplier relationships by engaging with supply chain and sourcing in strategy session and defining market gaps.
  • Will lead the initiative of defining the business case for diversity and advancing internal policies to include one or more diverse suppliers in the contracting and sourcing process results across categories.
  • Must be knowledgeable in working with minority organizations, state and local organizations to track certifications and understand diversity challenges in the market.
  • Will partner closely with teams in the Strategic Sourcing Team and cross-functional stakeholders to build and execute category strategies that create and grow concrete procurement opportunities for diverse businesses, in line with our values and goals.
  • Support all RFIs/RFPs, vendor management, contract compliance issues/resolutions and contract negotiation for supplier diversity.
  • Must have a background in analytics with a concentration on lean solutions to project future business growth plans, Identifies, establishes and communicates overall objectives, priorities, and deadlines of interrelated projects, events and initiatives. 
  • Creates and communicates analytical reports and dashboards to monitor supplier utilization trends and performance to established goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for building relationships with diverse suppliers and lines of businesses.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external relationships to effectively influence and direct the achievement of business results.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of key operating models, processes, and methodologies. Attends departmental/corporate meetings, ongoing training and development.
  • Attends external meetings and events that support the growth and advancement of supplier diversity


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Sourcing, Procurement experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Program development, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and working with Diverse Suppliers

• Must be knowledgeable in working with minority, state, and local organizations to track, validate, and manage certifications

• Expected to be an expert on diversity challenges in the market

• Builds and maintains internal and external relationships to effectively influence and direct the achievement of business results

• Participates in the development and implementation of key operating models, processes, and methodologies

• Attends external meetings and events that support the growth and advancement of supplier diversity

• Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines, with a strong project-driven approach

• Superior business or technical writing, proofreading and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail

• Experience with Grant writing

• Experience consulting with small business and especially diverse business owners

• Succinct and concise communication (verbal and written) including reports for executive audiences

• Capability to identify improvements to existing programs and processes

• Able to influence and engage both internally and externally; build and develop relationships with peers and suppliers to exchange feedback on service issues, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs, and/or achieve business results

• Build and maintain strong relationships internal and external stakeholders to effectively influence and direct the achievement of supplier diversity related business objectives.   

• Experienced in hosting training and education sessions on Supplier Diversity 101 internally and externally. 

Expectations :

  • Willing to travel greater than 30% of the time

Pay Range

$96,600.00 - $171,800.00 Annual
