To strengthen our team, we are looking for an R-D Scientist to develop novel automated electrophoresis instruments and assays within the Biomolecular Analysis Division, located in Ankeny, Iowa.
We develop differentiated analytical instruments and consumables that are aligned with the Division-s strategic business goals. The R-D scientist will generate new concepts and turn the concepts into innovative products for the analysis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. This person will work with engineers and scientists within the global R-D organization to drive projects forward. This person will also work closely with colleagues from other functions including marketing, manufacturing, and quality as a member of cross-functional project teams to develop new products according to Agilent-s product lifecycle.
Initiates, designs, and executes scientific research and development strategies aimed at new products and services in the life/bio/chemical sciences fieldApplies a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to inventions, products, and problems. Through investigation or experimentation, uses scientific knowledge to examine, evaluate, and test discoveries. Proves, applies, and interprets scientific laws and theories. Maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories. Typically facilitates transition of product design to production and delivery. May make contributions to scientific literature and conferences such as publication of papers, application notes or presentations at symposiums. May participate in development of patent applications. Interfaces with various departments and serves as internal consultant. Scientific disciplines include but are not limited to physics, materials science, biology, cell biology, molecular biology, chemistry, and biochemistry. Ph. D may be required.
