We did it!

Thank You for Making Your Voice Heard!

Tuesday night the Senate voted for a motion to table (scrap) the Nelson Amendment, effectively killing it. It passed by a vote margin of 54-45. To see how your Senator voted, please click here (blocked:: A "yea" vote on the motion to table is a vote to kill the amendment.

The Nelson Amendment closely mirrors the dangerous language of the House-passed Stupak-Pitts amendment that would ban abortion coverage in public and private insurance plans that receive federal funds.

Thank you for your support and tireless efforts to ensure equitable treatment of women's health in health care reform.

This is a major, major victory for women of color united everywhere!

We will keep you informed and ask for your support in the many battles to come in the fight for real health care reform that improves the lives of the millions of Black women living in America.

Please don't think your participation is not making a difference. There is strength in numbers! To become a member of Women of Color United and Black Women's Imperative, visit and stay connected.

My prediction is this, if this bill passes including Federal funding for abortions, Obama will not get re-elected and the Democrats in general will see significant losses in the next election.

I'm just saying, many Americans have very strong feelings that abortion is wrong, stronger than that war is wrong.

Gon' and tell it Sis. Irma - LOL. Bro. Steve, I wish folks would understand that this will not open doors for abortions, per se, but will protect the right of EVERY woman to have a choice. If we can stay focused on that, we preserve America.

When we allow the enemy to hone in on an emotional buzz word like 'abortion' we begin to chip away the rights of women in the US. Let's stay focused on the crux of the legislation and not all the negative hype.....

Love you guys;)-

Me, I believe that our presidenths has a much greater chance of being reelcted, because it is my 'prediction' and 'gut feeling' that in 2010 our votes will be cleaning house and getting rid of some of the big business baggage that is weighing and watering down his efforts to get our government back into the hands of small business' and small peoples on main street.(smile)
