Dolores Rhodes, a local alumna of the Alpha Delta Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi at the University of Alabama, was honored with a prestigious award at the 51st International Convention of the Fraternity held June 22-26 in Tucson, Ariz.

The Adele K. Hinton Award for Excellence honors one alumna member who has set an outstanding personal example for others in the fraternity, while exemplifying the ideals of AOII and inspiring others to remain involved in fraternity service. Named after one of the organizations Past International Presidents, the award remains one of the fraternitys most prominent and highly-recognized awards for individual alumnae.

After years of active involvement in the AOII Mothers Club at Alpha Delta Chapter where her three daughters were members, Dolores was initiated as an alumna initiate. As a volunteer for the organization, Dolores served the fraternity in a multitude of different roles, most recently as the network specialist for alumnae. The award was presented by Linda Grandolfo, AOII vice president, during the awards banquet on June 24.
