Alcorn State University recently received a $7500 award from the competitive HBCU-CFE mini-grant program sponsored by the Morehouse School of Medicine. The "Journey of Understanding Project" will engage student leaders in developing and implementing an experiential activity in Spring 2012 to raise awareness of behavioral health issues among students on campus. Dr.

Martha Ravola, associate professor of Human Sciences, and Dr. Derek Greenfield, director of Diversity and Equity Engagement, will serve as co-project directors for the grant. Ms. Dyann Moses, director of Counseling and Testing, and Mr. Alfred Galtney, post award programs manager, also participated on the grant planning committee and will be involved in the project as well.
