Chicago Scholars names CAU Alum Dominique Jordan-Turner President and CEO
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on October 07, 2013

The Chicago Scholars Foundation Board of Directors recently announced its selection of Dominque Jordan-Turner as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Jordan-Turner joins the The Chicago Scholars Foundation from The Posse Foundation, where she served as the Chicago Director. Jordan-Turner's 15 years of experience includes leadership positions at KIPP Foundation, New Beginnings and Deloitte Consulting. Additionally she served as a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps stationed in Panama. Jordan-Turner holds a masters degree in business administration from Marquette University and a bachelor's degree from Clark- Atlanta University.
"As a first generation college graduate, I am incredibly humbled to lead an organization that is transforming the lives of so many deserving Chicago youth", Jordan-Turner remarked.

Jordan-Turner succeeds Steve Wohl, a member of the Chicago Scholars Foundation Board who served as Interim President.

"We are excited to have Dominique's expertise and talent as our new leader, and look forward to working with her to further the Chicago Scholars mission," said Suzanne Shier, Chairman of The Chicago Scholars Foundation Board.

The announcement comes a month prior to the Chicago Scholars Annual Onsite Admissions Forum that this year will help 600 students gain admission and scholarships to college. The number of students served by The Chicago Scholars Foundation increased tenfold since 2007. The Onsite is scheduled for October 28, 2013 at the UIC Forum.

About The Chicago Scholars Foundation:
Founded in 1996 as a scholarship-granting organization, Chicago Scholars has evolved into a one-of-a-kind, five-year mentoring and support program beginning in a student's junior year of high school. Its mission is to provide talented, academically ambitious and underserved students from every high school and neighborhood in Chicago with access and success through college and beyond. Our academically ambitious Scholars are not only investing in their own career growth and success but also ensuring that Chicago remains competitive in the global economy for years to come.
