Champion Athleticwear HBCU Scholarship!

Twenty scholars will be selected to receive scholarships of up to $2,500 for the 2020-2021 academic school year ($1,250 each semester, which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Champion Athleticwear are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI). Twenty scholars will be selected to receive scholarships of up to $2,500 for the 2020-2021 academic school year ($1,250 each semester, which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Program Eligibility:

Be enrolled full-time as an incoming freshman at a TMCF member-school during the 2020-2021 academic school year.
Current cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
Able to demonstrate a financial need.
Be a U.S.



Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All applicants must:

  • Provide a copy of the 2020-2021 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
  • Upload a current Resume.
  • Provide the high school transcript (official or unofficial) from your most recently completed academic term. This should include your 2019-2020 fall and spring grades and a cumulative GPA.
  • Provide proof of acceptance into or enrollment at a TMCF member-schools as an incoming full-time freshman during the 2020-2021 academic school year.
  • Answer the following questions (Maximum of 250 words per question):
  • When describing a champion, we believe that they live their lives with heart, integrity, and commitment. In what ways have you exhibited these qualities of a champion, in your school, community, or family to make a lasting impact?
