If you own a restaurant, you know just how unhappy customers can become when they have to wait for too long. Fortunately, you can make sure that they remain repeat customers no matter how busy it gets. Here are five tips for making your restaurant's customers happy even during busy times.
Chat With Your Guests
You can make your guests feel important and get their mind off of the wait by talking to them frequently. While they are waiting, you need to make it a point to stop by each table to see if your guests need anything. You can do this yourself or have your servers take care of it. Just make sure it’s not slowing down things more.
Have Televisions Installed by an A/V Company
If you are looking for a way to get your guests to forget about the fact that the restaurant is busy, have televisions installed by an A/V company. While they are waiting to be seated or to receive their food, they will be distracted by what's on the televisions. If they are so engrossed by what’s on the screen, they might not even realize how long the wait actually is.
Hire Entertainment on Busy Nights
There are probably certain times and days that you know your restaurant will be busy.
During these times, your customers will probably have to wait a long longer than you'd like them to. Fortunately, you can help them pass the time by hiring entertainment. The amount of money that you have to spend on entertainment will be well worth it in order to keep your customers happy.
Give Customers a Free Drink
While you probably don't want to give things away, you often can keep your customers from complaining about waiting by giving them a free drink. It won't cost you that much in the long run, and your customers will feel like you actually appreciate their business.
Make Sure the Food Is Worth the Wait
No matter what you do, your customers won't be happy if the food doesn't taste good, especially at the end of a long wait. You need to make sure that each dish is cooked perfectly so that no one sends something back to the kitchen because they were dissatisfied. You'll find that many customers will be more than willing to wait longer than usual for their food if it is actually worth the wait.
If you are struggling to keep your customers happy when your restaurant is busy, there are many different things that you can do. Just remember to keep your cool and to make sure that your customers receive quality food no matter how many people you are trying to serve.
