Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders: Celebrating Truist's HBCU Intern Class

As another incredible summer comes to a close, Truist is proudly celebrating the accomplishments of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) interns who recently completed their internship experience across the company. For these students, the summer was far more than a line on a resume — it was a launch pad toward meaningful, purpose-driven careers.

More than an internship, the program represented an opportunity for students to explore rewarding career paths, build professional networks, strengthen their industry knowledge, and contribute to real work that moves the business forward. From day one, Truist's HBCU interns were treated not as observers but as valued teammates — taking on substantive projects, collaborating across departments, and sharing their fresh perspectives with the leaders around them.

Throughout the summer, interns immersed themselves in the day-to-day work of a leading financial services organization — gaining hands-on exposure to the tools, teams, and decision-making that power a major company.

Just as importantly, the experience reflected Truist's deeper commitment to community and to its purpose of inspiring and building better lives and communities. By intentionally recruiting from HBCU campuses, Truist is building a stronger, more representative talent pipeline — one that recognizes the excellence, drive, and leadership that HBCU students bring to the table.

The interns' summer also included engaging experiences beyond their core assignments, including exposure to financial wellness and life-and-money conversations that reinforced the real-world impact of the industry they are entering.
