JET Swimsuit Calendars Deliver 12 Months of Hotness
|
Posted By: Chelsea Stalling on August 31, 2006 JET Magazine once again delivers 12 months of hotness with the 2007 JET Beauty Swimsuit Calendar and the 2007 JET Brothers Swimsuit Calendar. The sizzling calendars are on sale now by mail order, online at jetmag.com and, for the first time, at participating stores across the country. The calendars launched for the first time three years ago as an extension of JET magazine’s popular Beauty Of The Week feature that appears in each issue. They became instant must-haves in the Black community and sell out every year, said Linda Johnson Rice, president and CEO of Johnson Publishing Company. “We are always amazed with the overwhelming response from our customers,” Rice said. “So this year, we decided to make the calendars available in stores for those who don’t shop online or just can’t wait for their calendar to arrive in the mail.” Each year, JET searches nationwide to find amateur and professional models that can bring the heat. This year, JET partnered with CheapTickets.com to fly the chosen few to the beautiful Viva Wyndham Resort in Freeport, Bahamas for the exciting weeklong shoot. JET Photographer James Mitchell captured the calendar’s stunning images with the help of a Chicago style team that included wardrobe stylist Patric Chauvez, makeup artist Marcus Geeter and hairstylist AJ Johnson of AJE’s Salon. “We select a wide cross-section of models,” said LaTrina Blair, calendar project director and Johnson Publishing Company promotions manager. “Everyone has a different idea of what is attractive and what’s sexy. I think we do an amazing job of filling the calendars with models that represent a variety of ideas of beauty. The models have different looks, different body types and skin tones and they are all hot in their own way.” The JET Beauty 2007 Swimsuit Calendar and JET Brothers 2007 Calendar are available for $9.95 online at www.jetmag.com; by using a mail-in order form in JET Magazine; and on newsstands at participating stores. A store listing is available at jetmag.com. JET, with a 9.5 million weekly readership, is the only national news weekly that provides complete coverage of the Black community from an African-American perspective. The late media mogul John H. Johnson founded the magazine in 1951. ## © 2006 Johnson Publishing Company, Inc. If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
