Duke encourages its Associates to participate in volunteer/community activities and supports those who actively participate in their communities by providing each Associate with two paid Community Days per year.

Habitat for Humanity and the Children's Guardian Home in Indianapolis.
Our philosophy of community involvement is summed up in the last line of the Company's mission statement: We will make the communities where we do business better places to live. This is accomplished by both financial contributions to non-profit organizations and personal volunteer efforts by Associates, many of whom serve on boards of various charitable organizations.
On a regional level, Duke Realty supports the United Way through its annual United Way campaign. United Way of America is a national service, education and training organization dedicated to adding value to communities through fundraising programs and scholarships. Other causes Duke and its Associates support include Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers-Big Sisters of America and the American Cancer Society, to name a few.
On a local level, for example, Duke donated time, materials and labor to a major renovation of the Children Guardian's Home in Indianapolis, and Associates from each city volunteer with various local organizations.
