Job Description:
This full-time occupational therapist will predominantly focus on helping patients with acute psychiatric conditions improve their emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being to maximize their occupational performance and overall function. The role involves assessing, planning, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities to perform daily activities and achieve their occupational therapy goals. This occupational therapist will serve this patient population through both one-on-one sessions and group sessions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving patients with acute psychiatric conditions through patient-centered and innovative care, a commitment to best practices, and a dedication to interprofessional collaboration.
These roles are responsible for helping patients to develop, recover, or maintain skills needed for daily living and working, enabling patients to perform everyday activities that are important to their independence, health and well-being. Occupational therapists assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs.
Entry-level position typically requiring little to no prior knowledge or experience and require vocational or technical education. Work is routine or follows standard procedures. Work is closely supervised. Communicates information that requires little explanation or interpretation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
Experience: None.
Licensure: Licensed to practice in Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. New grads must be licensed within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 30 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The starting base rate for this role is $69,201.60 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
