This role will support corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and venture investment activities by leading financial analysis, valuation, diligence, and execution efforts related to acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic minority investments. Partner closely with senior leaders to evaluate inorganic growth opportunities that deliver strategic and financial value.

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Lead financial modeling, valuation, and analytical support for acquisition, divestiture, partnership and venture investment opportunities, including ownership of financial models and forecasts.
2. Support end-to-end transaction execution, including sourcing, diligence, structuring, closing, and post-close monitoring of acquired or invested companies.
3. Conduct complex financial and strategic analysis, including interpretation of GAAP and regulatory financial statements, bank financial metrics, and valuation methodologies (DCF, comparable transactions, etc.).
4. Coordinate and lead due diligence efforts across internal teams and external advisors; track progress against diligence schedules and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
5. Prepare investment and transaction materials, including teasers, confidential information memoranda, valuation decks, diligence summaries, and investment recommendations for executive and stakeholder review.
6. Manage transaction-related workflows, including data rooms, buyer or investor communications, information requests, and project status reporting.
7. Support strategic planning efforts by developing materials that evaluate Truists inorganic growth options and emerging technology or industry trends.
8. Track and report on transaction and investment activity across the organization; maintain reporting related to active and completed projects.
9. Build strong internal partnerships to understand strategic priorities and align corporate development and venture investment activity accordingly.
10. Represent the Corporate Development & Ventures team in internal meetings and select external events as needed.


Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline.
2. 58 years of experience in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or related financial roles.
3. Strong experience in financial modeling, valuation, and underwriting of complex transactions.
4. Demonstrated ability to analyze and forecast financial statements and evaluate strategic and financial tradeoffs.
5. Strong business acumen and ability to interact effectively with senior executives and external partners.
6. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
8. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


1. Masters degree (MBA or equivalent).
2. CPA, CFA, or progress toward certification.
3. Prior banking or financial services experience.
4. Experience interpreting legal agreements related to acquisitions, divestitures, or equity investments.
5. Strong understanding of fintech, technology, or emerging industry ecosystems.
