The role mayalso include periods of stationary work, as well as reaching for and handlingmaterials as part of completing job duties. <h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Successful completion of a recognized painter apprenticeship program or four (4) years (48 months) of full-time journey-level painter experience.</li><li>Possession of a valid State of Illinois Class "D" Driver’s License. </li></ul><h4>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</h4><ul><li>Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.</li><li>Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, regulations and strategies to promote health and safety practices for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.</li><li>Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.</li><li>Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.</li><li>Skill in time and resource management.</li><li>Skill in personnel resources management through motivating, developing, and directing subordinates as they work, identifying the best skill sets for completion of the job.</li><li>Skill in giving full attention to what other people are relaying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.</li><li>Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.</li><li>Skill in determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.</li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.</li><li>Ability to operate a personal computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the Internet.</li><li>Ability to communicate information and ideas.</li></ul></span></p><h4><span style="font-family: "Segoe UI"">Appointment Information</span></h4><p><span style="font-family: "Segoe UI"">This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 3027 - Painter position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
