The Hotchkiss School is an independent boarding school in Connecticut that offers educators the opportunity to work with 600 outstanding students in grades 9-12, in a well-resourced environment focused on teaching and learning in and out of the classroom. Our students are also athletes, artists, and activists. Hotchkiss prioritizes robust support for professional growth and encourages collaboration.
At Hotchkiss, we prepare our students to navigate an increasingly complex world. We believe that Hotchkiss students must arrive at graduation day having confidence in their own humanity and morals, and possessing the capacity to engage with the divergent views of others. Our director of diversity & inclusion is committed to leading us in ways that ensure a rich learning experience in this intentionally diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. As of the 2019-20 school year, 36% of students are U.S. students of color, 16% are international, and 95% of students are boarders.
Located in Lakeville, Connecticut, the School sits on 827 acres in the midst of the scenic Berkshire-Taconic region - a place the Nature Conservancy calls "one of the most extraordinary landscapes in the Northeast."
