TRAVIS SCOTT PROVIDING $1 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HBCU STUDENTS IN NEED
100 Students Experiencing Financial Hardship During Their Senior Year Can Apply for an Immediate Scholarship of $10,000 at cactusjack.foundation
The Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund is granting 100 x $10,000 scholarships.
Travis Scott is providing $1 million in scholarships for college seniors at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), who may be experiencing last-minute financial adversity. The Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund is named after his grandfather who was an HBCU alumnus and educator and Travis Scott’s sister and brother also attend HBCUs (Prairie View A&M and Howard, and part of Scott’s Project HEAL and Cactus Jack Foundation.
Eligibility: HBCU seniors who have reached academic excellence (averaging GPA of 3.5 or higher) who may be experiencing financial adversity in their second semester senior year. Applicants must be planning to graduate Spring 2022.
To Apply: Please submit a two minute video or a 500 word personal essay and photo to apply for this scholarship opportunity. Applicants are asked to include proof of GPA and why they would be a good candidate for this scholarship opportunity, such as discussing the impact of the financial hardships they have experienced or are experiencing, and their future career plans after graduation.
The deadline to apply is March 30th, 2022 and applicants can apply by visiting cactusjack.foundation.
Travis Scott, issued the following statement: “I want students to know they can accomplish anything they set their mind to and that in a moment of financial uncertainty, we are here to help. I hope these scholarships will free them up to be as innovative and creative as they can be as they conclude one chapter of their lives and begin another. Money should not be a barrier for students to dream big.”
