The Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) is seeking current sophomores, juniors and seniors from our FARE HBCUs to participate in our 1-year FARE Mentorship Program, launching on February 15, 2023.
Please indicate your interest no later than this Friday, January 13 sending your name, college email & current year in college.
FARE would like to receive all current student mentees recommendations from HBCU faculty & staff members by Tuesday, January 17.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
The Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) is launching a membership program for current sophomores, juniors and seniors at HBCUs.
A key learning from FARE’s R.I.S.E. Research was that we must invest in Black professionals through thoughtful mentorship programs that offer support in multiple facets.
Mentee Qualifications
o Current FARE member HBCU student (sophomore, junior or senior)
o Passionate and willing to learn more about the financial services industry / HBCU faculty & staff recommendation
o Willing to commit 6-8 hours a year to a mentoring relationship
o Agrees to participate in 4 scheduled mentoring sessions *2 makeup sessions will be scheduled, if necessary
o Active on LinkedIn (or willing to create a profile) provide Nationwide access to Creating a LinkedIn profile
o Agrees to complete brief program experience surveys at beginning and end of program
o School counselor, school of business dean or academic advisor approval is required (if currently still enrolled in undergraduate program; recent grads and HBCU alumni not required to obtain HBCU representative approval)
o GPA requirement – Good academic standing
Program Details
- Four mentorship sessions (Feb. 15, April 25, August (date TBD), November 2)
- Each session will be 60-75 minutes (virtual **)
- Content will feature the “Know Yourself, Grow Your Wealth” program, presented by The American College of Financial Services
** More details will be shared about an optional in-person session held at the Conference of African American Financial Professionals (CAAFP Conference) in Chicago, IL on August 7-8
