Be timely
The most important rule is timeliness. Thank you notes should be sent the same day as your interview or meeting. If you’re old school and send a handwritten note, make sure it’s postmarked the next day.

Be brief yet relevant
A thank you note should be no longer than a short paragraph. Don’t overthink it, but make it personal and include something related to your meeting, your excitement for the opportunity, or something unique about yourself that makes you a great fit for the role.

Re-read it twice
Short doesn’t mean easy. Proofread your thank you note. The last thing you want is a spelling error, and you certainly don’t want to misspell a name or job title or any omission that could be easily overlooked.
