Two hours on Saturday mornings from September to May can change the trajectory of a student’s life. Since 2003, 100% of Minds Matter Boston students have been admitted into 4-year colleges — with 2024 graduates receiving $2.6M in scholarships covering 95% of financial need:contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}:contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}.
Why Mentor?
- Make a lasting impact through the power of education.
- Join a community of 300+ volunteers and expand your network.
- Help students who are often the first in their families to attend college (69% of mentees):contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}.
How It Works
You’ll be paired with a co-mentor and two students (2:2 model). Together you’ll meet throughout the academic year to navigate every step of the college application process — no prior experience required, just a college degree and a commitment to showing up.
Sessions are held Saturdays, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at MIT or BU. There are ~25 sessions from September to May; mentors are expected to attend 80% and ideally commit for at least one year:contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}.
"The best part of Minds Matter is getting to watch how much progress my mentee is making towards achieving her goals. Every week, I see how driven she is, and it is amazing to be a part of her journey." — Minds Matter Boston Mentor, 2023:contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}
