Greetings!
You are receiving this email through The Washington Center's partnership with HBCU Connect. TWC works with several government agencies to provide paid internships in Washington D.C. to students and recent graduates. A typical week in the Competitive Government Program includes four-and-a-half days at your internship, a once-a-week academic course and a leadership forum.
There are a number of agencies hiring interns this spring, including:
- Federal Aviation Administration
- Internal Revenue Service
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
- U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
- National Archives and Records Administration
- and more!
Agencies encourage students from many diverse backgrounds to apply, including women, minorities and students with disabilities. Accepted interns receive a monthly stipend, fully-furnished housing, and a travel allowance. There are no application fees for the Competitive Government Program.
Applicants must be United States' citizens. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
The deadline to apply is Monday, November 19, 2012. Applications may still be accepted after that date on a space-available basis. If you have questions about the Competitive Government Program, please do not hesitate to contact The Washington Center.
Best,
