Counselors are responsible for providing culturally responsive mental health services to students including assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, case management, and consultation. Counselors contribute to educational outreach programs for the campus community on a variety of topics related to mental health and wellbeing, often collaborating with other departments. Counselors actively participate in orientation activities and other college-wide programs. This is a non-essential, 10-month position that reports to the Director of the Wellness Center.
• PhD, PsyD, MSW, or M.A. in Mental Health Counseling or related field
• Independently licensed to practice in the state of Maryland: LCSW-C, LCPC, or licensed psychologist
• Experience managing crisis situations
• Successful completion of a background and credential background check
• Experience working with database tracking and counseling software
• Ability to provide on-call coverage and emergency response
