The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nationís leading advocacy organization for childrenís healthcare, is seeking an organized individual with strong communication skills to provide project management support for the Chapter Quality Network (CQN) childhood immunization project learning collaborative. This position will engage in quality work to improve immunization rates for children, lead project planning, and collaborate with various constituents, consultants, and members to achieve project goals. In addition, this role will provide support to the broader CQN portfolio.
Some duties include:
1. Lead project activities with support from CQN staff and project consultants and manage adherence to all internal/external project deadlines.
2. Assist with the development of key drivers, project measures, and curriculum planning.
3. Develop and maintain project documents and online repositories (eg, Dropbox, Basecamp), including participant tracking.
4. Plan and co-lead project meetings with coordination of consultants, chapter participants and other CQN staff as appropriate.
5. Manage all aspects of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Maintenance of Certification processing activities, including the development and submission of applications and on-going reports.
6. Write and submit quarterly funder reports on project activities and goal progress.
7. Assist with reviewing all presentations and project documents for accuracy, copy editing, and proofing.
8. Facilitate communications with project team members, chapter staff, and pediatric practices.
9. Maintain and monitor the online conflict of interest (COI) disclosures for assigned faculty related to CME activities and other required projects. Serve as primary point of contact for faculty and staff regarding COI activities.
10. Monitor and update assigned webpages for content and functionality.
11. Assist with preparing and managing assigned budgets.
12. Manage all event logistics for project team and participants and serve as point of contact for on-site meetings.
13. Proactively plan for potential project risks and respond appropriately, escalating to supervisor as needed.
1. Bachelorsí degree in public health, communications, business administration, or related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
2. At least two yearsí experience in related project coordination required, preferably related to pediatric health care, clinical, or measurement activities. Experience serving as a team lead in quality improvement and/or public health systems applying quality improvement methodology preferred.
3. Must take initiative, pay close attention to detail, be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work both independently and as part of a team, and collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, oral/written communication, proofreading, and critical thinking skills required. Must have strong technical acumen with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with collaboration/document management platforms (eg, SharePoint), virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx), web maintenance software (eg, SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, and database applications preferred. Some weekend work and travel required.
