Engagement and Marketing Coordinator

Full-time, non-exempt position responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a membership engagement strategy and process for grants; building relationships with membership to increase awareness of grant opportunities. Work collaboratively with committees of the organization. Understand the difference between advocacy and lobbying. This is a NON-Lobbying grant work.

Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, and implement family/community engagement strategies around grants.
• Build relationships with members of NCPTA to increase awareness to several of NCPTA’s initiatives.
• Coordinate and provide membership educational presentations and professional trainings
• Work directly with Executive Director and staff to achieve goals of organization.
• Oversee external marketing and communication including, but not limited to social media strategy and postings, writing, distributing and tracking news releases, creating marketing collateral such as posters, brochures, etc.
• Measure the success of each social media campaign.
• Keep abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies via research and training
• Monitor Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and user engagement and suggest content optimization
• Responsible for planning, coordination and execution of grant events.
• Plan, coordinate, including design graphics and marketing the event.
• Build and enhance membership’s knowledge about grants while educating members and professionals about NC children and the world they live in.
• Develop, implement and manage strategies for events to create brand awareness and maintain customer relations.
• Design flyers and market events in a timely and strategic manner.
• Maintain and enhance the organization’s website including content development and lead generation activities.
• Plan, post and promote online content on social media platforms for the organization
• Participate in the ongoing development of cohesive, effective, and efficient teams throughout the organization.
• Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and web traffic metrics.
• Develop and enhance the organization’s brand.
• Handle public relations.
• Develop sales and marketing tools to communicate the organization’s competitive advantages to target audiences.
• Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices with online marketing and metrics.
• Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network.
• Conduct audience and buyer persona research.
• Research audience preferences and discover current trends in the marketplace.
• Create engaging text, image and video content.
• Has worked with the press including earned media and press releases.
• Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new products.
• Train staff and Board members to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way.
• Facilitate online conversations with clients and respond to queries.
• Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm with the ability to work varied shifts including some evening and weekend hours.
Starting Salary: 45,000.00

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• One-year experience in membership outreach, special event coordination, and/or project management.
• Strong writing skills.
• Strong graphic design skills.
• 2 years of experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role.
• Strong editorial and copywriting and editing skills
• Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices.
• Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and web traffic metrics.
• Familiarity with web design and publishing.
• BA in Marketing or similar relevant field.
• Skilled at creating, posting, and tracking social media content.
• Innovative. Ability to work in unconventional ways or on tasks that require creativity
• Experience working with people from diverse, underserved and marginalized communities.
• Strong time management skills.
• Demonstrated analytical and relationship building skills, with the ability to recognize and prioritize opportunities to achieve goals.
• Ability to problem solve, effectively plan and prioritize, make decisions individually and within a team.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and graphic design and graphic editing programs
• Demonstrate experience in event planning and coordination.
• Work collaboratively with Board of Directors and committees of the organization.
• Ability to travel.
• Understanding of grant work.
• Has worked with the press including earned media and press releases.
• Understands grassroots organizing, legislative process, and advocacy.
