Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital.  We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses. 

This senior level position will report to the Head of Healthcare Corporate Banking, within Healthcare Corporate & Investment Banking.   

The primary responsibilities of this relationship manager will include: 

  • Leading dialogue with C-suite and other Senior-level client executives
  • "Delivering the Institution" to clients with little direction or executive level support
  • Possessing deep and strong demonstrated technical expertise regarding Wells Fargo's most complex capital structures and other corporate banking products; Consistently driving left lead business with complex financing and looking to broaden client relationship across multiple products and services
  • Demonstrating strategic ability to determine best approach for the client with a particular financial offering to deepen relationship while maximizing revenue opportunities
  • Strong leadership of relationship coverage and deal teams including the Corporate Banking team, Credit and Risk Management, Debt Capital Markets and Other product partners and Executive Management
  • Independently leading the most complex transactions to successful conclusion with little to no supervision. This includes interfacing with Credit and Risk Management, and coordinating with Investment Banking coverage and product groups
  • Consistent portfolio management including adherence to underwriting, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively reviewing the portfolio and takes action in a timely manner to mitigate risk 
  • Presenting comprehensive credit recommendations to executive credit approvers showing a complete understanding of the client and credit opportunities/risks

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: commercial banking relationship management, corporate banking relationship management, international/financial institution banking
  • 9+ years of commercial bank relationship management experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Experience originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to corporate banking or other credit related products for the most critical or complex clients
  • Ability to develop multifaceted revenue streams from strategic clients, including capital markets
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of market dynamics, macroeconomic, and political circumstances; that could affect business in geographic responsibility
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of products, services, and organizational structure to facilitate cross-selling efforts to a global financial institution client base
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • 10+ years of banking industry experience
  • Capital markets experience
  • FINRA registration including Series 79 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • FINRA registration including Series 63 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • Sales and marketing leadership experience
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge and understanding of originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to corporate banking or other credit related products for the most critical or complex clients
  • Healthcare industry experience



Other Desired Qualifications
  • History of building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and internal partners 
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of treasury management, debt capital markets, interest rate, and foreign exchange risk management, loan syndications, asset management, leasing, Asset Backed Finance (ABF), Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), Prime Brokerage and other relevant Wholesale products 
  • Proven ability to establish relationships at the CFO/Treasurer level of existing clients 


Job Expectations

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 and 79 must be completed within 150 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
