Job Description
Operations Supervisor
Intrepid Museum is looking for a full-time Operations Supervisor to perform activities including supervision of operations employee’s, installing, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems, general plumbing and mechanical work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 Reports directly and receives instructions from the Senior Vice President of Operations regarding daily maintenance operations and various projects throughout the facility.
 Supervise a crew of 12 across all operations disciplines.
 Takes daily equipment readings and manages work order, PM/CM and equipment inventory database.
 Performs/ oversees routine and preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the SVP Operations.
 Responds to emergency issues and troubleshoots problems.
 Performs repairs on facilities various systems as necessary.
 Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems, including vents, ducts, heating and air conditioning units, and other components of HVAC systems.
 Participates as a member of the Museum firefighting team.
 Maintains ship, pier and other Museum facilities, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
 Participates in marine operations, maintenance and transportation of vessels, barges, and aircraft including tank inspections, ship compartment inspections, line handling and aircraft movement.
 Performs internal construction projects ensuring their completion according to specifications, schedules, budgets and contractual commitments.
 Responds to all facility emergencies and assists other Operations personnel with timely, cost effective resolutions or temporary set-ups.
 Assists in general technical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance duties as required by management.
 Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements
Qualified candidates will also have 4 year degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience, an ability to understand sensitive information and maintain confidentiality, have strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization from line workers to senior management level, have strong critical thinking skills, have complex problem solving skills, be highly organized and have an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Basic computer proficiency to include HVAC-related software and Microsoft suite of programs strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license.
Employee will need to climb ladders and go onto man-lifts, forklift trucks or any other equipment required to service equipment and wiring throughout the varied locations across the Museum complex. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision. Employee must be able to pull cabling and all physical demands associated with this task. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
