General Summary
The Illinois State University Athletics Department is committed to academic and athletic excellence as it prepares today's student-athletes to become tomorrow's leaders. This position directly contributes to that mission by directing and coordinating the management of intercollegiate athletic events. This position is responsible for planning, organizing; staffing and managing assigned intercollegiate athletic events and activities; and serving as Director of IHSA State Championship events.

Work Hours
Typically 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Will be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on scheduled events.

Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelorís degree or Masterís equivalent in Hospitality, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Student Affairs, Sports Management, or a closely related field.
2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in Athletic Events and Game Operations at the collegiate level.
3. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with a variety of populations.
4. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.

Desired Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Athletics Administration or related field.
2. Previous event management experience in Division 1 collegiate or professional athletics.
3. Supervisory experience including hiring, promotion and scheduling of staff for events, competitions and services.
