Assistant Director for Residence Life
General Position Description
The Assistant Director of Residence Life assists with overseeing the residence halls and assists in supervising the Resident Assistant staff. This is a twelve-month, live-in position which requires evening and weekend hours that reports to the Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life. The position assists the Office of Residence Life in the fulfillment of the mission of the university and the department to provide students with a living - learning environment that promotes faith, discovery, leadership and community in support of the university's mission and Catholic values.

MAJOR TASKS OF THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Serve as a role model, resource person and referral agent to resident students
Develop positive relationships with students in the residence halls while providing overall supervision and management of assigned residential area(s)
Be an active and present leader within the residence hall/area for which you are responsible
Work with individual students to resolve various residential issues such as roommate conflicts, facility concerns
Work with individual students to assist and support them with academic, social and transitional concerns
Conduct student conduct conferences with students who have violated the Code of Student Conduct as assigned by the Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life
Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement annual Resident Assistant hiring, training and ongoing in-service training
Supervise a Graduate Hall Coordinator who is responsible for supervising 14 Resident Assistants
Supervise five Community Assistants
Serve on university committees as assigned by the Vice President of Student Life or Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life
Participate in Admissions programs such as: Open Houses and Accepted Students Day
Participate and assist in major events held by the university and/or the Office of Student Activities such as: New Student Orientation, Welcome Week and others as assigned
Develop positive collaborative relationships with departments, including Physical Plant, Public Safety, Dining Services, the Wellness Center, Campus Ministry, Recreation Services, Accounting & Financial Affairs
Participate in professional development opportunities
Participate in some capacity in the supervision of the summer housing process and Resident Assistant program
Serve in the On-Call rotation as scheduled
Other duties as assigned

SPECIFIC TASKS OF THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Supervise Cottages and the Apartments (Upperclass)
Supervise Graduate Hall Coordinator who oversees Sheridan Hall and Pangborn Hall (First-Year)
Oversee residential programming model
Serve as liaison with Physical Plant in terms of maintenance tracking, renovations and inventory replacement

Minimum Qualifications
The Assistant Director position requires a demonstrated commitment to the Catholic, liberal arts mission of the university. It is preferred that the successful candidate will possess a master's degree in a relevant field and have a proven record of success in higher education leadership.

Remuneration
The position includes an on campus apartment with a private entrance in our university apartments. Parking, cable and internet and are included with the apartment. A $5000 meal stipend ($2500 Mount Flex dollars each semester) to eat in the dining hall, Mount Cafe, C-Store, or Campus Bookstore. The position is also eligible for the full university benefit package.

Salary
This is a full-time position with full benefits and annual, holiday and sick leave. Competitive salary commensurate to experience.
