Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, spanning diverse technologies across multiple industries. The Application Migration, Modernization & Management Practice collaborates across the entire AWS organization to deliver the best solutions for customers, connect with AWS product and service teams, and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs. As trusted customer advocates, the Practice helps organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate and/or re-develop existing workloads in the cloud. You will help shape, execute, and deliver solutions for a broad range of customer use cases primarily from large enterprise customers.
Are you passionate about solving business problems through data driven decision making? In this role, you will own responsibility for one or more critical process and systems areas and will partner with stakeholders to define both the near-term and long term strategy for those areas. Your recommendations, based on data, will contribute deeply to the direction of the ProServe application roadmap and will provide the right balance of quick-win efficiency gains with the longer-term optimization of the business. You will work closely with the global operations and field teams to achieve business objectives and communicate insights to key stakeholders.
This is a customer-facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed. This is not a pure consultant role, nor is it a pure selling role. It requires an individual with a unique combination of understanding a customers existing enterprise estate and helping customers realize the benefits and roadmap of migration and modernization on AWS. This role will be at the front end of AWS Professional Services engagement leading customer assessments and providing guidance for modernization engagements on AWS. This role will partner with existing team members and work cross-team to optimize deal flow and will be incubating customer engagements from beginning to end.

Role and Responsibilities
The Business Application Architect will leverage their enterprise customer and product management experience, and knowledge of cloud platforms to collaborate with our sales, Partner and other AWS Professional Services teams to architect, incubate, and scale the implementation of customer assessment and modernization solutions. The role remains engaged with the customer and Amazon team to ensure a high-value delivery and successful outcome. The role is also responsible for partnering with teams across Professional Services to dive deep into business challenges and to collaboratively propose offerings that would result from a formal Professional Services engagement.
Lead the development and incubation of AWS Professional Services Assessment offerings by engaging with customers, account teams, and AWS service teams to build, integrate and tailor existing AWS services and offerings
Support Sales and AWS Professional Services delivery teams in pre-sales activities, architecture sessions, proposal development, solution design and implementations, leveraging AWS offerings
Collaborate with customers by defining or inventing cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases, including modernizing to become a SaaS provider
Participate in architectural and design sessions, and business process and operational discussions to create world-class products and services built on AWS
Partner with account and professional services go-to-market teams to ensure successful delivery of AWS Professional Services offerings across engagements
Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS
Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and proof of concepts
Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals, architects and executive leadership within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
Capture and share best-practice knowledge, sales and delivery content among the AWS Professional Services community

AWS Professional Services consultants work with enterprise customers locally, regionally and potentially internationally. As such, consultants will be required to travel to client locations to sell and deliver professional services as needed.
5+ years of program management experience for large or global programs
5+ years experience of managing multiple projects in-parallel across a complex program
5+ years of program management skills with experience in influencing others outside of direct line of reporting, and advocating on behalf of the customer
7+ years of experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or technical consulting in customer-facing roles
7+ years of architecture/design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications, infrastructure, database and networking
Demonstrated ability to understand and deep-dive into Windows, SQL, .NET applications and provide modernization guidance
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels, including senior leadership
Managing executive Customer and Partner relationships and key business stakeholders
A proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale enterprise projects
Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Able to navigate ambiguous situations, identify and solve for blockers with minimal guidance, know how to influence, build cross-organizational partnerships
Desire to learn and stay on top of technology trends
Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customers environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $122,300 per year. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
