We are searching for top talent to join our Accounting team! The Accountant III is responsible for the oversight, supervision, and initial processing of all monies coming into the organization through the cashiers’ office. This position ensures all contributions, including cash, checks, credit cards, and online payments from third party processors, are recorded timely and accurately into the organization’s bank accounts. This position also provides key accounting support and reporting for donor and campus funds. The Accountant provides backup and cross-training support to the Accounting department in a variety of areas, as needed. This position promotes innovative thinking to improve accounting and other administrative processes within the Foundation.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
◾ Review and approve cashiers’ office operations, life insurance processing, and other accounting functions. processing, deposit verification and reconciliations are performed timely and accurately.
◾ Collaborate with Information Technology and the Alumni Association to add, verify, or delete Foundation Information Network (FIN) users. Train campus users on reports available in the system.
◾ Provide custom transaction, fund balance, and other financial reporting as requested by colleagues, campus partners, and external agencies. This includes working with internal partners to prepare year end scholarship review and ensure balances are sufficient for awarding.
◾ Review fund balances, activity, and attributes on a regular basis to assure fund accounting and attribute accuracy including fund status. Verify new fund set up criteria.
◾ Provide accounting data for yearly reports.
◾ Maintain recurring credit cards. Process credit card refunds and follow up with appropriate personnel to adjust databases affected.
◾ Cross-train according to departmental guidelines and provide backup to other Accounting functions, as necessary.
◾ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
◾ Three to five years professional accounting experience
◾ Experience managing a team
◾ Understanding of financial statement preparation under GAAP
◾ Reconciliation experience
◾ Attention to detail and ability to meet timelines
◾ Strong organizational and customer service skills
◾ A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record
Desired Skills & Experience:
◾ Fund accounting experience
◾ CPA or CPA candidate
◾ Knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications
Demonstrates the ability to work with numbers while maintaining a high level of accuracy
