Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Precision Oncology
Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Cancer Center (CC), Froedtert Health Network (FHN) and Children’s Wisconsin (CW) are launching a transformative Precision Oncology (PO) initiative. This PO initiative will expand an already robust PO program that includes a strong group of basic and translational investigators interested in cancer genetics and epigenetics, a state-of-the-art bioinformatics and sequencing facility, tissue repository, and a robust investigator-initiated clinical trials pipeline. The MCW campus houses the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research, the Versiti Blood Research Institute, and the Genomic Sciences and Precision Medicine Center and is the hub for the FHN and CW. MCW, FHN and CW are the inpatient and outpatient market share leaders in cancer care in Southeastern Wisconsin with over 5,000 new cancer diagnoses annually. As part of the PO Initiative, MCW CC will seek the recruitment of 6-8 faculty within the next 3 years.
Available positions
In the inaugural year of the PO search, MCW CC invites applications for up to three faculty positions at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor with the long-term goal of developing novel therapeutic approaches to treat cancer. MCW has a large patient base in both hematologic malignancies and solid cancer types, including pancreatic, prostate, breast and ovarian cancers; as such, investigators with interest/expertise in any of these cancer types are particularly encouraged to apply. Endowed chairs in PO are available for qualified senior candidates with exceptional creativity and track record. Expertise and research areas of interest include:
1) Pathologists with a laboratory-based research focus
2) Clinical trialists with expertise and interest in epigenetic based therapeutic approaches
3) Basic science investigators studying nuclear architecture, gene expression, epigenetics, computational biology and bioinformatics
4) Medicinal chemists with a history of multi-disciplinary collaboration
5) Medical oncologists with a laboratory-based research program
6) Basic science investigators with an interest in lymphoid or solid malignancies
Academic appointment will be within MCW department(s) most appropriate for each candidate and can be tailored to provide maximum synergy, along with membership in the MCW CC. These positions provide an attractive start-up package and outstanding opportunities for collaboration with basic, translational, and clinical investigators. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications & Requirements
Who are we looking for?
Eligible candidates will have a MD and/or PhD. Successful candidates will have track records of creativity and productivity, a desire to integrate into our exciting, collaborative, and growing community of researchers, and a dedication to contribute to our values of diversity and openness. They will be expected to mount a productive and innovative research program, obtain extramural funding, and participate actively in education, training, and mentorship. MCW is intent on attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce and faculty body that reflects the community we serve. We value diversity of backgrounds, experience, and thought to advance excellence in science and medicine.

For inquiries, please contact Dr. Sridhar “Sid” Rao, Chair, PO-Recruitment Committee (sridhar.rao@versiti.org). MCW is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty and strongly encourages applications from individuals in groups that are underrepresented in the biomedical sciences.
