Job Description

This new position will be responsible for management of the IT Service Management (ITSM) product for Technology Change Management and Technology Release Management (TCM/TRM). This product area is newly migrated to the ServiceNow platform and needs management for continuous improvement and vendor upgrade cycles. This product owner will apply deep industry and best practice knowledge and proven expertise in ITSM product implementation and improvement to ensure successful adoption and transition to agile methodologies.

Responsibilities include:
 • Establishes and maintains the ServiceNow ITSM product strategy and roadmap for TCM/TRM, including cross-product and cross-organizational dependencies
 • Understands technology strategy, ServiceNow cross-product strategy, and related strategies and roadmaps to ensure TCM/TRM roadmap alignment across products
 • Defines, validates and delivers TCM/TRM product outcomes in alignment with related strategies, vendor product roadmap, process and risk goals, and user needs
 • Partners with the ServiceNow ITSM suite roadmap manager to identify key TCM/TRM product work efforts needing management as initiatives, with business cases, funding justifications and business value realization measures
 • Maintains a thorough understanding of the product's technical and business architectures, implementation state, revision history, and interdependencies
 • Defines TCM/TRM current and future state user journeys and articulates product value propositions
 • Drives continual innovation and increasing product value through research and analysis of user experience, operational results and process compliance
 • Acts as a champion for users and their leaders to increase adoption, eliminate barriers and ensure success during release transitions
 • Oversees the agile product delivery lifecycle in support of process governance, day-to-day operation and product maintenance
 • Translates product vision and strategy into features, epics, stories and acceptance criteria with the support of product business analysts
 • Works with process owners, key process stakeholders and platform and product development partners to identify a book of work for the TIPM product
 • Analyzes vendor's release roadmap to identify impacts and opportunities and translates them into the product backlog
 • Drives continuous integration and delivery, automation gains, and reduced release cycle times
 • Grooms and prioritizes the TCM/TRM product backlog, including selection of automation opportunities based on ROI
 • Engages the vendor for problem solving, future product enhancements and complex design evaluation
 • Collaborates with scrum master and development partners to estimate initiative vs business as usual resourcing needs
 • Tracks and reports progress of the TCM/TRM product roadmap, including business value realization measured outcomes, and product delivery risks, issues and mitigations
 • Performs related work as assigned



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology experience
  • 4+ years of experience creating and implementing strategic plans and roadmaps at the executive level for enterprise wide business initiatives
  • 2+ years of product management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: strategy, product development or product management
  • 5+ years of change management experience
  • 3+ years of Agile experience
  • 3+ years of experience implementing ServiceNow



Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing large technology development efforts within a major line of business
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • 2+ years of financial services industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of building and executing a technical roadmap
  • Ability to understand short and long term costs, benefits, and risks of technical solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of project coordination: financial forecasting and actual analysis
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Facilitation skills, including ability to facilitate decision-making and broker agreements amongst diverse, differing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities
  • Good analytical skills including strategically analyzing data and diagnosing opportunities/interventions
  • Ability to evaluate risks and the impact of decisions on an overall organization
  • Ability to identify, plan, and document system solutions that are cost effective and meet regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of business requirements analysis including: identification of alternative solutions and associated tradeoffs
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of automation and engineering release development
  • Knowledge and understanding of automated workflows design
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
  • 4 + years of experience developing or supporting IT Service Management solutions
  • IT Infrastructure Library Certification (ITIL)
  • Experience with technology related regulatory requirements and frameworks including: FFIEC, COBIT, COSO, NIST, ITIL
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: build/deploy processes, and release management
  • 3+ years of experience supporting technology in a regulated environment
  • Management experience in a technology environment



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience owning an ITSM product and its roadmap, particularly in the area of technology deployment, delivery orchestration, patching, or change and release management
  • Demonstrated mastery/expertise in at least two of the following skills, and strength in at least two more:  ITIL, ITSM data architecture, automation design, deployment orchestration, automated deployments, release planning, change risk mitigation
  • While not a position with direct reports, previous experience managing direct reports will be helpful
