The Texas Associate will support the implementation and execution of the No Kid Hungry Texas (NKH TX) campaign. This includes coordination across NKH TX staff and with other internal departments at national headquarters, as well as collaboration with external partners. Under the direction of the Director, the Program Associate will work closely with Share Our Strength staff and community partners in Texas to coordinate our work, ensure deadlines are being met, and keep stakeholders informed through newsletters and social media engagement. The Program Associate will also track program budgets, manage grant deliverables, support events, and maintain data and grant impact reporting.
The role is fully remote and flexible within Texas, with a strong preference for a candidate within reasonable driving distance to Austin or San Antonio. Range for offers: $55,000-$58,000.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as liaison and resource in day-to-day management of the NKH TX campaign, including supporting regional NKH TX Program Managers, in the campaign’s work to increase participation in child nutrition programs in the state.
Maintain a working knowledge of metrics, strategies, best practices and program impact stories related to No Kid Hungry Texas and support dissemination of findings.
Draft monthly newsletter highlighting resources and identify new opportunities to provide impact stories on successful programs.
Manage No Kid Hungry Texas social media platforms based on existing strategy and voice, interacting with network and supporters in real time across all platforms.
Update and manage the No Kid Hungry Texas website and newsletter planning for new material as needed to support with advocacy or programmatic needs.
Support collaboration among schools who are actively engaged in implementing service models that increase meal participation (e.g., Breakfast After the Bell, Breakfast in the Classroom, Afterschool Meal Programs, etc.) to streamline information dissemination and encourage regional peer networking and best practice sharing.?
Collaborate with state-based colleagues to identify needed resources and materials for schools, community organizations, and other partners and support development of public-facing materials.
Oversee the planning and execution of regional and state-wide internal NKH meetings, as well as provide support and logistics (including in-person attendance post-COVID) for external conferences attended by the NKH TX team.
Lead on developing a Hunger Heroes/Champions program, developing the network of champions and servings as the point of contact for any programmatic, fundraising, or other Hunger Heroes Champion opportunities.
Represent NKH TX in interdepartmental meetings, internal project management, and cross-departmental meetings, external programmatic meetings, and serve as liaison to internal teams including Donor Engagement, Communication, Center for Best Practices, and the Program Team.
Provide administrative and logistical support and coordinate invoicing for No Kid Hungry contractors and external vendors.
Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensuring this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.

Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required, and/or three or more years of work experience in a professional environment.
Experience working with and growing an audience on social media channels.
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills across communities and identities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Demonstrate understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) values and how they impact our work with Texas communities.
Experience with Zoom and MS Office suite.
Ease in working independently and efficiently in a remote work scenario.
Interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
