Through SRI International's (SRI) Advanced Microcircuit Emulation (AME) and Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) programs, the Microcircuit Emulation Center (MEC) supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. The MEC is a government-supported, U.S. based Trusted foundry, and this capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system.
SRI's Princeton location (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) is searching for a Test Engineer to join the MEC team. The position will collaborate with design engineers to create and perform diagnostic testing of microcircuits as needed, provide technical guidance and consulting to test and design engineers, and interact with microcircuit end-users and customer program managers to review and present test specifications, results and issues
Other responsibilities may include:
Interpret, define, document and implement methods to perform accurate and efficient characterization and QML screening of microcircuits (digital, analog, and mixed signal technologies) in compliance with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, SMDs, M38510 and other applicable customer requirements.
Write and debug test programs for microcircuits to perform detailed wafer probe, device characterization and/or production QML screening using dedicated semiconductor ATE systems similar to HP82000, Advantest V93000, and Teradyne microFlex
Maintain and improve methods for test and measurement of microcircuits using ATE, advanced bench equipment, specialized board fixtures, generation of semi-automated interface scripts (LabView) and others as necessary
Review test results and characterization data for consistency, accuracy and coherency; ability to identify and troubleshoot setup or measurement error issues as necessary
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar subject area with a minimum of 2-3 years relevant work experience. Work experience may be substituted for degree.
Due to Government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Demonstrated hands-on capability in the measurement of microcircuit characteristics using both manual/bench instrumentation and automated, computer-controlled measurement systems (ATE)
Knowledgeable in theoretical and practical aspects of metrology as related to electronic measurements (i.e. test fixture design, measurement accuracy, test guard-bands, etc)
Demonstrated ability to interpret semiconductor related test documentation (i.e. military device specifications and standards documentation, commercial data sheets, application notes, etc) in order to complete characterization and screening tasks
Experience working on both Unix/Linux workstation and PC (Windows) environments; demonstrated ability in relevant programming languages (i.e. C, C++, LabView, etc)
