IBM Public Cloud Technology Partner Architect (TPA)

Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Public Cloud Technical Partner Architects (TPA) are responsible for assessing, enabling, and building IBM partner’s technical capabilities to support pre-sales and customer engagements. The IBM Public Cloud TPA will work with their sales counterparts to help ensure our business partner and distributor accounts have everything needed to best leverage and use the IBM Public Cloud portfolio, offerings, and services. The TPA should have knowledge across IBM Public Cloud portfolio so they can help to embed and grow IBM Cloud technologies used at our partner accounts. The TPA should be able to help lead technical discussions, presentations, and perform demos that links technology with business value for IBM Public Cloud solutions and use cases.

The TPA will work closely with their sales peers to manage and build relationships within the partner and distributor accounts and work to ensure partner revenue targets are met. These objectives will be met by demonstrating thought leadership for the technical sales aspects of the portfolio of IBM Public Cloud offerings and solutions through the assigned accounts.

Key Qualifications
The candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in a customer facing, consultative technical sales or professional services organization. Also, the candidate will have 5 or more years’ hands on experience with architecture, implementing, and supporting a broad range of workloads in IaaS and PaaS clouds. The successful candidate will be able to develop strategies for and assist partners and customers in the design and technical build out of the Infrastructure, Applications, and Management of the environments on the IBM Cloud. The IBM Public Cloud Technology Partner Architect will provide innovative design solutions leveraging a broad portfolio of cloud technologies including, VPC, Bare Metal Servers, Virtual Servers, VMware vCenter, Kubernetes & Red Hat OpenShift, Serverless computing, and associated cloud services to meet the complex set of client requirements across public, private and hybrid cloud models. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to help us drive IBM Public Cloud solutions in our partner ecosystem. This is a technical, hands-on partner/client-facing role. Candidates must have the ability to earn the trust of partners and clients at any level, from executive to developer. Candidates for the job should possess excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to efficiently multi-task.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3+ years solution design experience working with public, private and hybrid cloud models.

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer facing, consultative technical sales or professional services organization.

  • 3+ years cloud networking or cloud-based networking solution design experience.

  • Solid understanding of IBM Cloud Computing Services (IaaS and PaaS).

  • Experience working with business teams to translate business goals into reliable technical solutions and advising business teams on optimal technological strategies to achieve business results.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building consensus across diverse groups of stakeholders.

  • Tackle challenges with a solutions-oriented, systems thinking approach.

  • Ability to drive progress independently as well as problem solve collaboratively.

  • Ability to be flexible and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment

  • Adept at leveraging the IBM matrix – sees the IBM matrix as an opportunity, not a challenge

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Cloud Native & Containers technology (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Microservices, API’s, automation).

  • IBM Cloud Databases.

  • Distributed Workloads & Industry Cloud platforms (e.g IBM Cloud Satellite, FS Cloud)

  • VMware VCF/VCS, NSX.

  • Virtual Private Clouds (VPC) and IBM Classic Infrastructure.

  • Local and Global balancing strategies using IBM Cloud LBaaS to deploy highly available cloud-native applications into the IBM Cloud.

  • Certifications: IBM Cloud Sales Engineer, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration/RedHat OpenShift Operator Certification, Certified Kubernetes Administrator.

  • Competitive knowledge of public cloud vendors a plus ( e.g. AWS, Azure, Google)
