We have an immediate need for a Postdoc - Chemical Engineer. Selected candidate will get the opportunity to work directly with one of the leading CO2 capture technology development groups. In addition, the candidate will have an opportunity to learn and participate in number of other technology development related to energy production that are currently in lab scale, bench scale and pilot scale. The candidate will get the opportunity to work with SRI project partners who are from academia and industry.
Conduct research and development of one or more of the following areas: gas-liquid reactor design, CO2 capture process design, and other concepts in energy technologies as they are developed.
Design and assemble bench-scale apparatuses for testing the performance of new solvents and reactor designs.
Support laboratory testing for the ongoing project, organize, and analyze data from research; prepare technical reports and make presentations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MS or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related field
Hands on experience with process development, testing and optimization in lab and or pilot scale.
Demonstrated ability as an innovative experimentalist with a broad range of experience in experimental design, techniques, and execution
Demonstrated ability to develop independent research projects as demonstrated through publication of peer-reviewed literature
Strong background in chemical separation technologies including CO2 separation
Good understanding of chemical process design
Ability to effectively work with clients and strong writing skills
Ability to work in a team environment and strong communication skills
