Your Role:  

  

Responsibilities of this position will include; interpretation of federal, state and local agency regulations, analysis, oversight and review of project work products, including site specific technical data, calculations, technical reports, construction plans, cost estimates, environmental permit applications and permit terms and conditions.  These responsibilities will be applied to the Civil, environmental and solid waste industry’s.  The position will also involve client relations, support of new client business development activities including proposals, as well as, help with cross selling.  

  

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and help direct work for multi-project clients, and multiple clients.  

  • Help support strategic initiatives for continued work with key clients and business sectors.  

  • Direct the work of others and maintain the quality control on projects and on administrative tasks.  

  • A point of contact for clients and for maintaining a positive relationship with clients.  

  • Manage multiple smaller company priorities and projects.  

  • Work at landfills, contaminated sites, and/or other sites where heavy equipment, contamination, or other health hazards may exist.  

  • Evaluate performance and status of the technical staff, recommend changes in staff positions.  

  • Prepare key proposals, including the development of technical plans, schedules, and cost estimates, and preparation with staff and with the client.  

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to think and act critically and strategically.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in engineering or related environmental field 

  • Professional Engineer license or able to acquire within one year of hire 

  • Experience - 5 to 10 years minimum in a related field 

  • Solid waste management 

  • Biogas system design 

  • Remediation 

  • Site Civil 

  • Regulatory experience required; general upper mid-west, specifically Michigan, experience a plus 

  • Established client relationships are a plus 

  • Project management experience preferred, including budgets and invoicing 

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral 

  • Solid organization and time management skills 

  • Self-disciplined/motivated individual who also works well in a team environment 

  • Proficiency with computer usage for document preparation including Word and Excel 

  • Working knowledge of computer-aided design software; Civil 3D preferred
