Job Description
Microservices Lead Software Engineer

About this role:

We seek a Java Technology Lead will be a team member of Public Affairs & Customer Excellence (PACE) development team and will provide technology support to, and work in partnership with, our business team. This lead will deliver and support solutions using full stack Java based technologies.


In this role, you will:

  •  Acts in a lead technical role providing technical guidance and consultation with application teams, clients, and Engineering 
  • Managers for their technology domain environments including but not limited to cloud, middleware, operating systems, applications, Software-as-a-Service, and Platform-as-a-Service products.  Act as primary point of contact for the team, build  POCs, build quick prototypes with latest industry standard software libraries and scale it for the platform.
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices. 
  • Provides the strategy and design for projects associated with their technology domain including, upgrades and deployments. 
  • Utilizes advanced technologies and methods to integrate their technology domain with other technology domains, enabling the creation of new or expanded heterogeneous environments. 
  • Develops new documentation and departmental technical procedures. 
  • Directs the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets. 
  • As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems. 
  • Leads projects and manages the work of less experienced staff. 
  • •Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 10+ years of Java experience
  •   3 + years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles 
  •  4+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
  •  5+ years of leadership experience 
  •  4+ years of experience in microservices development   
  • 1+ years of experience in TDD/BDD and Karate Framework.
  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud technologies such as , PCF/GCP and worked in cloud migration.
  • 3+ years of experience in Database development in Oracle, MongoDB, etc.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology business systems analysis 
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions
  • 2+ years of experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  •  Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
  • Experience securing IaaS/PaaS private cloud or DevOps environments 
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment
  • 1+ years of JIRA experience
  • 1 + years of Confluence WikiD experience 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud computing, PaaS design principles and micro services and containers
