Sr. HR Specialist, Rewards

This is a fully remote eligible role.

The current team atmosphere is very collaborative, but there is still much independent work to be done. In this role as the Sr. Rewards Specialist, you should be able to take direction well, learn quickly, and work independently. You will be required to take the initiative, be proactive and have outstanding communication skills.

Summary:

  • Support the Director and Lead Specialist to effectively deliver health and welfare programs and ensure leaves of absence are consistently and effectively tracked and managed by the third-party administrator in accordance with federal and state mandated regulations and company policy

  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly benefit and leave processes

  • Monitor compliance, employee eligibility, payroll coordination, and transaction processing for leaves including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term disability, long-term disability, workers compensation, military, personal leaves, paid parental bonding, paid family care leave, and Canadian leaves

  • Will report to Director of Ben & LOA operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • US & Canada Benefits and leave administration, including being the liaison between employees and vendors

  • Evaluate and evolve internal processes to simplify and deliver an exceptional employee experience

  • Auditing employee records, ensuring accuracy in systems including making necessary updates

  • Knowledge of benefit and leave compliance and regulations

  • Identify root-causes for highly complex issues and partner with Lead to provide resolution

  • Handle escalations from TPA, Managers and Employees, advising TPA on how to proceed

  • Coordinating premium billing statements and reconciliations

  • Monitor and take action on shared inboxes

  • Responsible for updating knowledge and SOPs

  • Reconcile payroll spreadsheet for employees on LOA by reviewing Company and state eligibility to ensure pay is accurate and timely manner

About you:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Benefits and Leave experience

  • Bachelors’ degree required, preferably in Human Resources

  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADAA, CA-PDL, HIPAA and other state leave regulations

  • Knowledge of State Insurance programs, such as SDI, Paid Family Leave Insurance in various states

  • Preferred working knowledge of Workday and ServiceNow or experience with other HCM is highly desired

  • Strong proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (V-look Up, Mail Merge, Pivot Tables)

  • Comfortable working as part of a virtual team and building relationships remotely

  • Self-starter with the capability to perform independently in a change-oriented environment

  • Personal organization and time management skills with the ability to adapt and function effectively in fast pace environment

  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
