We are hiring for a Manager - Financial Systems role in the Finance Automation Center of Excellence. This position will require a high degree of technical knowledge and needs to be accompanied with deep leadership experience. Proven ability to mentor and guide the development of team members and work very closely with Business Partners and Technology Leaders.

American Express Technology is looking for a motivated individual with software development skills to help drive a dynamic and innovative development team. Our team analyzes manual processes to identify next generation options and builds sustainable solutions.

A successful candidate will be a strong leader with a blend of hands-on business analysis and software evaluation to enhance development. A strong history of creative problem solving and building collaborative relationships will be key to this role.

This position is a Manager - Financial Systems and member of a delivery and integration team reporting to a Financial Systems Director.

Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies and collaborate with owners of existing Enterprise tools
- Ability to mentor and collaborate with a team of experienced developers
- Staying current with evolving technology to assist in defining the long-term tool strategy
- Perform research on evolving technologies and rationalize with the target of application footprint reduction
- Perform unit and assembly testing of software components including the evaluation, design, build, implementation, and execution
- Guide business partners through uncovering of core business needs
- Create standards for sustainable process delivery
- Create and/or review documentation and knowledge transfer with frontline support team, design builds that enhance the support of maintenance team
- Support existing and new process availability through analysis and remediation of production issues
- Design and build integration components and interfaces in collaboration with Architects and Infrastructure Engineers as necessary
- Conduct code reviews and build automations on relevant platforms
- Perform ongoing refactoring of code and continuously improve products
- Understand impact on disparate systems, business units and long-term impact of technical design decisions.
- Focus on cost savings, performance, reliability, and quality of user experience and architectural alignment of solutions
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Object-Oriented Programming experience
- Minimum 4 years of design/development/support on RPA technologies with variety of integrations including REST APIs, RPA infrastructure
- Minimum 3 years of Hands/on experience with RDBMS and familiarity with NoSQL
- Experience with Selenium is a must
- Experience with Agile and SDLC methodology
- Requires hands-on knowledge and understanding of architecture, requirements analysis, applications systems design and integration, with a detailed understanding of applicable programming methodologies.
- Has the ability to work with business partners and articulate technical concepts and design/ implementation, maintenance, and support considerations
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross functional teams, business partners and/or vendor partners, and technology leaders
- Must be able to thrive in an environment of heavy team interaction and collaboration
- Experience with process analytics, refinement, and reporting tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy is preferred
- Hands on experience in Big Data Components/Frameworks (Hadoop, HBase, HDFS, Hive, Scala etc.) is desirable
- Experience on Splunk is desirable
Educational Requirement:
- Preferably a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other Technical discipline.

Preferred Experience:
- Direct experience with technologies such as Python, Java with BDD
- Familiarity with maven or similar building frameworks
- Direct experience with next generation tools including Machine Learning, NLG, NLP & AI
- Familiarity with BPMN and CMMN is preferred
