Java Lead Software Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Critical payments application in Payments, Treasury Products and Customer Care Technology (PTCT) team as a part of the Commercial, Consumer and Investment Banking Technology Group (CCIBT). The role requires technical knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and demonstrated skills in JAVA.  Being a PTCT team member means growth and opportunity. Team members are challenged to implement IT strategy; enhance the design, development, and operations of our systems; drive and leverage an optimized Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; prioritize risk and regulatory compliance, provide information security; to enable the smooth service to customers

In this role, you will:

  • Leading Secure Application Development

  • Design, develop and maintain solutions to support key business needs

  • Build and maintain high-quality, high-performance, scalable software

  • Lead, mentor and provide technical leadership to teammates

  • Engineer Web Pages, Core Components and Common Services in alignment with development models, languages, and standards

  • Produce Design Documents

  • Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Document and demonstrate solutions by writing documentation, diagrams, and code comments

  • Debug and document existing systems through code analysis

  • Contribute to Application management activities such as Business continuity, SDLC activities, technical refresh support, critical surveys, analysis, platform releases, patching, vulnerabilities, and system management support for Technology mandates

  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile Scrum or Kanban environment.


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of front-end software engineering experience

  • 5+ years of Java experience

  • 5+ years of Oracle database experience

  • 5+ years of Web Services experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience working with Java frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, etc.

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience in a distributed services architecture like (SOA or Microservices)

  • 5+ years of web service or api development experience (REST, SOAP)

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience in a cloud environment (Azure, Google, Amazon Web Services)

  • 5+ years of Agile experience

  • Broad development experience with core Java technologies

  • 5+ years of experience in PL/SQL, Oracle 12 and above

  • Experience with internal cloud hosting solution like Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)

  • Experience with automated deployment CI/CD

  • Rich experience working in an agile environment

  • Skilled with configuration/deployment management (DevOps) activities using tools like (Jenkins, Maven, Udeploy)

  • Skilled with performance and testing automation tools including Junit, Jmeter, Selenium, and/or Cucumber
