Senior Designer

About the Opportunity

The Senior Designer will concept and create visual design solutions for a large variety of project requests ranging from graphic design and brand systems, advertising campaigns, to one-off tactic requests.  The individual in this role will collaborate with other creative partners and non-creative team members in the development of ideas.  A strong creative point of view is expected but knowing when to listen and collaborate is key.  The Senior Designer will help make the design team better and stronger through leadership and mentoring their approach, methodology, work, and craft.


  • Provide a design point of view, creating multiple design solutions in an agile creative design philosophy
  • Collaborates with the creative team to develop a design strategy and approach
  • Works closely with the Sr Production Manager to stay on schedule and within budget parameters
  • Designs and executes branding, advertising campaigns, collateral, presentations, logos, asset kits/style guides, video titles and motion graphic elements
  • Creates design extensions for campaigns as requested
  • Organizes and archives files on studio server per studio guidelines
  • Prioritizes workflow effectively
  • Works independently to see projects through
  • Act as a leader and mentor to the creative team


  • Minimum 7 years of related experience developing creative and providing creative direction in an external agency or internal agency setting
  • BA/BFA/ BS in Graphic Design is preferred, but a portfolio representing equivalent experience will be considered
  • Bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, or other relevant fields or a combination of 10+ years of relevant experience and education
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in both print and digital, particularly with, but not limited to
    web, social, and emerging technologies
  • Expertise in creating marketing/advertising campaigns, concept development, and other day-to-day tactics
  • Expert proficiency in a variety of software programs with particular emphasis in InDesign CS5.5, PhotoShop CS5.5, Illustrator CS5.5, Acrobat 10, FileMaker Pro, Word, Excel, Suitcase, Toast, Stuffit, and Fech
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Experience hand trimming, mounting, sketching, and drawing for comp work a plus
  • Ability to clearly communicate the reasoning behind design choices
  • Mentor & support other graphic designers as needed
  • Must work well under tight time constraints to assure timely delivery of projects
  • Execute design initiatives while adhering to established brands across all media
  • Keep up to date with trends across culture, design, technology, e-commerce, social media, graphic design, photography, and video
  • Propose new ideas and share insights with the team
