Job Description
Therapist (Pediatrics)
The Department of Pediatrics- Early Discovery, has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Therapist. The Therapist, diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral, within the context of marriage and family systems. Apply psychotherapeutic and family systems theories and techniques in the delivery of services to individuals, couples, and families for the purpose of treating such diagnosed nervous and mental disorders.
Interviews, evaluates, and assesses the needs of patients, and develops treatment plans.
Provide intervention services on a weekly basis to about 15-20 children in the natural environment. A total of about 50 children per year
Works in conjunction with multidisciplinary service teams to ensure implementation of coordinated psychosocial serves as it relates to program participantsí needs.
Prepares progress notes, reports. and correspondence.
Maintains case records confidential.
Conducts ongoing individual, groups, and family counseling sessions with patients.
Completes psychosocial evaluations, diagnoses psychological disorders, prepares comprehensive clinical summaries, and makes treatment recommendations.
Interprets psychological or psychiatric case information from patients interviewed and from medical or psychiatric sources.
Assists with the recordation of data and statistics.
Serves as program liaison to collaborating service providers, the courts, and treatment centers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelorís Degree in relevant field required
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Must have a valid driverís license and reliable transportation as position does require driving
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Any appropriate combination of relevant of education, experience and/or Certifications may be considered.
